If I to pick my favourite ANL/ LNT release ever (as I write we're up to "At The Movies" in terms of what releases I'm choosing from), it would probably have to be Zero 7. Ok, so in terms of their own records its been a case of diminishing returns but this album, compiled just after the release of "Simple Things" when the boys were at the height of their powers, is a timeless classic. So many gems here - the nu-jazz of the Sunrays Quintet that opens, Joy Zipper's "Christina Bonilla" follwed immediately by Jim O Rourke's beautiful "Ghost Ship In A Storm", Ashley Beedle's amazing mix of Shawn Lee...and for the big finish, Zero 7's own epic cover of "Truth and Rights" seguing into the Stylistics "People Make the World Go Round". A compilation for hot summer nights or lazy summer afternoons.
