‘Symphonic tall stories for the small hours’ – that’s how the series was described back in 2002, which in pop music terms is at least two generations now. Luckily, the music that makes up the first Groove Armada Tale is classic, timeless stuff and the wee, small hours end with a story read by Sir Patrick Moore. Roy Ayers, Grace Jones, Aretha Franklin, Loose Ends, Metro Area, Al Green: it’s the perfect Lovebox line-up all over again. (What a shame Aretha won’t fly.)
